Twin: SMPs
One's just a little bit fatter than the other. The skinny one's much more sporty. I hope you like your new babys Steve.

Green With Envy: Bars
This would have to be 'The Job That Did My Head In'. Definitely the most complext handle bar covering job I've done. This is the bar pictured in the 'raw' state: the hoods still need to be fitted and the bar ends sorted out. At some stage final pictures will feature on the Cycling Edge Blog. The bars are for the envy bike, for which I not so recently made this. Now I'm looking forward to recovering a few simple saddles; I have 2 SMP Composits, 1 San Marco Aspide and a Specialized Toupe waiting for some attention. Coplex shaped saddles but simple in comparison to these bars.
Tom's Door Handle
I recently completed this job for Tom and Joy. The appartment is on the market and they wanted the worn doorhandle to look and feel just right. Possibly my most unusual leather covering job so far, particularly as I did it in-situ in a not so quiet Middle Park street. Many a passer by glanced my way wondring what I was up to, I could see them in the reflection of the glass door.

Fizik Arione
Just completed this saddle for Chris. The brief was for a recover in the standard pattern, white with a black centre. I just couldn't resist adding a few dots here and there. It takes a bit longer, uses a little more leather and nearly does my head in each time I try to figure out the perforation pattern.

Some more Detail
Yesterday I managed to stumble upon the perfect rims for this fellow. Laminated wood, made in Italia. Mmmmm, nice. Don't know why I previously neglected to post the ornate head tube lug detail, so here it is.

Built By MS
A Master Sport bulit by Motor Spares 547 Elizabeth Street. I chanced upon this frameset in the gutter in Kensington. There was rust, dust and mud all over but I was intrigued by the lug work and the dropouts. It's been sitting around for about a year now and I've decided how to build it up. Initially I was looking at full restoration including paint job but have decided to keep the beaten up paintwork because of its agaed charm. It will have nice new shiny bits, cranks, stem and bars are all being re-chromed. Not sure about the wheels or saddle yet except that it'll be 27" and run a coaster rear brake.
Colnago Lace
Coming out looking something like a piece of Eastern European folk art and a lace doilie, I couldn't have been happier with this piece. A collaboration between myself and Treesta adds a freshness to the dot graphics. Now I need something like this for my Hillman.

Shibori Animal

It's blue, it's an old Dodsun, it's taken quite a while because I we found a nice Hillman 531 road bike, it's got gears and it's fun to ride and coast for a change. It's my chilled out ride. See Shibori 1. Six bikes hanging in my bike room now and one more to come.

A Saddle Bag Attached
A customer asked me to attach this bag to the saddle on his Gellie Custom touring bike. So I did it with a couple of short belts with brass buckles. Eventually there will be a mini rack to support the bottom of the bag and prevent it swinging around and getting in the way. A beautiful old bag, heavy though, the leather is at least 5mm thick.

Green Goblin with Pink Bits
Being such a wonderful brother, on my last day of Summer holidays I gave Ged's Steam Roller a thorough clean. He didn't realise it could look so much like new again. The finishing touch is the "protest brake" with new pink cable housing.
Red Progress
The Two Wheeled Fire Truck is rolling through the streets of Melbourne complete with stainless steel Gellie Custom porteur rack. Not quite finished yet, still needs a black leather carry bag for the rack and some more comfortable pedals.
