Em's Mystery Bike

Pieced together from an assortment of parts laying around my back yard, spare room, laundry and studio. This bike from Em to M has turned out pretty nice. Including the M Shield saddle and matching stitched leather bar wrap. Flip Flop hub, free wheel only at the moment and waiting for a pair of sexier tyres in 27".

Old Man Skull

San Marco Concor Super Corsa, again. This time a brand new saddle stripped of its velvety suede and recovered with this old man skull design. This would have to be the most time consuming and technically difficult saddle I've done and I'm not too keen to do another one like it soon. It is completely patch worked together by hand with every needle hole pre pierced. Anyhow, it's done and off to Sable and Argent in Sydney.

The Lightest

This would have to be the lightes saddle I've worked on, and what a pleasure it was. The cow hide responded perfectly, the pattern making was challengeing and the unique quality of the Fizik seems just right. This one is on its way to Adeliade today to be reunited with its guardian AP and proper place atop a titanium litespeed frame to compliment an ensemble with matching leather bar tape and sky blue brake hoods.

Passing Through the Studio

Here are a couple of nice bikes that have passed through the Busyman studio over the last few months for a touch of leather trim here and there. Ged's RIH-Sport, Tri's Eddy Merckx and Goran's Cinelli. Why don't I have one of these for myself?

Fancy Doubles

A pair of double straps I finished for Tristan on the weekend. Double laminated with a woven core layer to prevent stretching, stitched to prevent delamination. There's another set in black on the way.

Here's What We Did Today

Some shots of the little showing by the students from my 'Cycle Craft' Fashion Design Studio. Why the pained look on my face? It's something to do with Melbourne's awesome ability to turn on the weather just when you don't need it. In any case the garments looked great as do the colours in these shots. Thanks for the photos Blaine, and the bikes.

The Whole Gang

A huge thanks goes to Lena for allowing us to crash her appartment this morning!

Michael Jordan 23

Just finished this set for a new concept bike by Southside Bikes. Based on Michael Jordan's famous number 23 with the Chicago Bulls. Baseball style stitch detail in keeping with the general American sport theme. Sheep skin on a Selle Italia Turbo.

On the Road to Sydney

This lot are about to land at Sable and Argent in Wooloomooloo, Sydney. It's the corporate id set. The store is looking good if their blog is anything to go by.

Frames for the Summer

The weather is starting to warm up again and people are thinking about riding again. These frames are all off at the powder coaters for a nice fresh spring makeover. Amongst this lot: a road bike, a shopping bike, a corporate bike and a ladies bike.

Paper Anniversary: Concor Super Corsa

I started and completed this Concor Super Corsa last Friday night for a former student of mine to give to her husband as a first anniversary gift. I just hope he likes it, that it fits with the vision he has for his new fixie build. Apparently he has recently caught the contagious fixie virus and is working on his first bike. So, does it fit the vision? Is it silver or paper for the first anniversary?

Tiger Wood's - White Leather Concor Super Corsa

Tiger face for a young fellow named Wood. Couldn't add much more than this, no space left on the surface of the saddle. This Concor Super Corsa could also have had a sprinkling of red dots and a couple of Japanese crest symbols. I hope you like it Wood.

Rolls Titanio Restoration

Recently completed this Rolls Titanio restoration for Fyxomatosis. Again great photos by TC. As he eloquently explains the leather is a soft lamb, the rivets were salvaged from the original.

Delaney's Turbo

The first piece in a new three piece 'group set'. The recovered Turbo features an abridged version of the Delaney family crest. Toe straps and stitched pursuit bars to follow soon.
